Manual entry of your EDF Energy unit rates for cost tracking and battery optimisation.
Getting Started
Connect your EDF Energy tariff so Joule Genie can calculate your energy costs and optimise battery charging around your rates.
Step 1: Find Your Unit Rate
Log in to your EDF Energy online account at edfenergy.com or in the EDF app, and navigate to My account > My tariff. Note your electricity unit rate in pence per kWh (including VAT). If you export solar energy and have a Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) rate with EDF, note that too.
Step 2: Add the Integration
In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select EDF Energy from the Tariff category. Enter your import unit rate in pence per kWh. If you have an export rate, enter that too — otherwise leave it blank.
Step 3: Verify
The dashboard will show your tariff rate on the rate chart. Since EDF fixed-rate tariffs have a single unit rate, you'll see a flat line — this is correct. The optimiser will use this rate to calculate savings from solar self-consumption and battery shifting.
Updating Your Rate
EDF Energy rates change periodically with the price cap. When your rate changes, update it in Settings > Integrations by editing the EDF Energy integration.
