What you pay depends on your kit
While we are still proving the integrations your home uses, you pay nothing. Once every part of your setup is kit we have verified end to end, it is £44.99 a year.
- Any part of your setup is an integration we are still proving. You get everything a paying household gets — you are helping us verify it.
- A beta integration watches for seven days before it is allowed to control anything, and only after you say so.
- Your inverter can be read but not controlled, so Joule Genie can show you what it would do but cannot act.
- Read-only inverters stay free for as long as that is all we can do.
- Every part of your setup is kit we have verified end to end: SunSynk (inverter), Octopus Energy (tariff), Pod Point (charger).
- Everything is included. There is no higher consumer plan to buy.
Which one am I?
Your household takes the cheapest band any part of your setup qualifies for. If one integration is still in beta, the whole household is free — we would rather you helped us prove it than paid for it.
Verified today: SunSynk (inverter), Octopus Energy (tariff), Pod Point (charger). Everything else we support is in beta, which means free.
What happens when my kit becomes verified?
Nothing has graduated yet — everything outside the verified list above is still in beta, so nothing has moved. When an integration does become verified, households on it keep three more months free and then pay £2.99 a month, locked for as long as they stay, rather than the standard £4.99. It is lower because you helped us get that integration there.
You will not find out from a bill. We email you when the free period starts, and again two weeks before it ends. If you decide not to subscribe, Joule Genie keeps showing you everything — the plan, the savings, the reasoning — and stops sending changes to your kit, rather than shutting you out.
Is anything held back?
No. Every band gets the optimiser, the savings breakdown, the explanations, overrides, your vehicle and your Home Assistant sensors. The band decides what you pay, never what you can use.
