Monitor Enphase microinverter systems with battery state of charge and mode control via the Enlighten API v4. No timed charge scheduling — battery mode switching (Self-Consumption / Savings Mode) is supported.
Getting Started
Connect your Enphase system to see real-time solar generation, battery state of charge, and home consumption in Joule Genie. Note that the Enphase public API does not support timed charge scheduling — battery mode switching (Self-Consumption or Savings Mode) is available.
Step 1: Create an Enphase Developer Account
Go to developer.enphaseenergy.com and sign in with your Enlighten account credentials (or create a free developer account). Navigate to Apps & Sandbox and create a new application. Note the API key, client ID, and client secret shown on the application page.
Step 2: Add the Integration in Joule Genie
In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select Enphase from the Inverter category. Enter your API key, client ID, client secret, Enlighten username, and password.
Step 3: Select Your System
Click Find my systems. Joule Genie will authenticate and list all Enphase systems registered to your account. Select the site you want to monitor.
Step 4: Verify Connection
Within a few minutes, the dashboard will show real-time solar generation and battery state of charge. The battery mode can be switched between Self-Consumption and Savings Mode from the Settings page.
Limitations
- The Enphase public API v4 does not expose timed charge scheduling — you cannot set charge windows via Joule Genie. This is a vendor API limitation.
- Grid export visibility is derived from solar and consumption readings; direct export metering depends on your system configuration.
Troubleshooting
- "Authentication failed"? Ensure your developer app is approved and the API key, client ID, and client secret match exactly what is shown in the developer portal.
- System not appearing? Make sure the system is visible and reporting in the Enlighten app before connecting.
