E.ON Next

In Testing Energy Tariff

Manual entry of your E.ON Next unit rates. Supports single-rate and two-rate tariffs such as E.ON Next Drive.

Getting Started

Connect your E.ON Next tariff so Joule Genie can calculate your energy costs and optimise battery charging around your rates.

Step 1: Find Your Unit Rate

Log in to your E.ON Next online account at eonnext.com, or check a recent electricity bill. Look for the unit rate in pence per kWh (including VAT). This is usually listed under "My tariff" or "My account". If you have a Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) rate for solar export, note that too.

Step 2: Check for Two-Rate Tariffs

If you are on E.ON Next Drive (the EV-focused tariff) or any other time-of-use tariff, you will have a cheaper off-peak rate — typically overnight from midnight to 7am. Check your tariff details for the exact off-peak hours and rate.

Step 3: Add the Integration

In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select E.ON Next from the Tariff category. Enter your standard import unit rate. For two-rate tariffs, also enter the off-peak rate and the start and end hours of the off-peak window (in 24-hour format, e.g. 0 for midnight and 7 for 7am).

Step 4: Verify

The rate chart on the dashboard will show your tariff. For a single-rate tariff, you'll see a flat line. For E.ON Next Drive, you'll see the cheaper rate during the overnight window — check this matches your expected off-peak hours.

Updating Your Rate

If your E.ON Next tariff changes (e.g. annual price cap review or tariff switch), update the rates in Settings > Integrations by editing the E.ON Next integration.
