Full read/write control of Growatt SPH and MIX hybrid inverters via the Growatt OpenAPI. Supports real-time monitoring, battery state, and 3-slot AC charge scheduling.
Getting Started
Connect your Growatt hybrid inverter to monitor real-time solar generation, battery state of charge, and grid flows — and let Joule Genie optimise battery charging around your tariff.
Step 1: Check Your ShinePhone Account
Open the ShinePhone app (or log in at server.growatt.com) with your Growatt account credentials. Confirm that your inverter appears in the device list and is showing as online with live data. Note the device serial number — this is shown in the device details screen and is also printed on the inverter label.
Step 2: Add the Integration in Joule Genie
In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select Growatt from the Inverter category. Enter your ShinePhone username and password and click Find my inverters. Joule Genie will log in to the Growatt portal and list all inverters registered to your account.
Step 3: Select Your Inverter
Select your inverter from the list. Each entry shows the device alias, serial number, and plant name to help identify the correct device. If you only have one inverter it will be selected automatically.
Step 4: Verify Connection
Within a few minutes the dashboard will show your inverter's real-time solar generation, battery SOC, and grid flows. For SPH and MIX hybrid inverters, the optimiser will schedule battery charging into the cheapest tariff periods using up to 3 AC charge time slots.
Supported Device Types
- SPH / MIX (hybrid inverters): Full monitoring and 3-slot AC charge scheduling supported.
- TLX / MIN (solar-only inverters): Monitoring only — AC charge scheduling is not available as these devices do not have a battery interface.
Polling and Account Safety
Joule Genie polls the Growatt portal no more than once every 5 minutes. More frequent polling risks temporary account suspension by Growatt's servers — this is a Growatt platform limitation.
Troubleshooting
- "Login failed"? Check your ShinePhone username and password. The password is case-sensitive. If you log in via a third-party account (e.g. Google) in ShinePhone, you may need to set a direct password via the ShinePhone account settings.
- No inverters listed? Make sure the inverter is registered and visible in the ShinePhone app before connecting.
- Charge scheduling not working? Charge scheduling is only available for SPH and MIX hybrid inverters. TLX and MIN devices are monitoring-only.
