Land Rover — vendor blocked

Land Rover shares the InControl platform Jaguar Land Rover permanently locked down to third-party services in 2024. Joule Genie cannot read data from your Range Rover, Discovery, or Defender plug-in hybrid directly. This affects every third-party smart-charging provider — OVO Energy and Octopus Energy lost the same access at the same time.

You can still optimise charging

Joule Genie can schedule when your charger delivers power, even without vehicle data. If you have one of the chargers we support, we will drive that instead:

• myenergi Zappi — start, stop, and target charging into cheap tariff slots.
• Pod Point — schedule and monitor charge sessions.
• Ohme (roadmap) — planned for 2026.
• Hypervolt — plug status and session control.

What you will not get

Without vehicle-side access we cannot show your battery state of charge or estimated range in Joule Genie. Those stay in the Land Rover InControl app.

When could this change?

Only if Jaguar Land Rover reintroduces a public or commercial API for third parties, or licenses one via a broker we can connect to. Register Interest and tick Land Rover in the hardware section so we can let you know.
