Monitor and control your myenergi Zappi EV charger. Start and stop charging, read real-time charge power, and plug state via the myenergi local hub API.
Getting Started
Connect your myenergi Zappi to see real-time charge power, plug state, and let Joule Genie start and stop charging at the cheapest tariff times. The integration uses the myenergi cloud API authenticated via your hub serial number and API key.
Step 1: Enable API Access in the myenergi App
Open the myenergi app on your phone. Go to Account (tap the person icon) and scroll to Advanced or Developer. Enable the API toggle and copy the API Key shown. This key is also called the "password" in some myenergi documentation — it is a 10-character alphanumeric string. If you cannot find the Developer section, ensure your app is updated to the latest version.
Step 2: Find Your Hub Serial Number
The hub serial number is printed on the label on the front of your myenergi hub (the white box, not the Zappi itself). It is typically an 8-digit number starting with 1 (e.g. 10000001). You can also find it in the myenergi app under My Account > Hub Details.
Step 3: Add the Integration in Joule Genie
In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select myenergi Zappi from the Charger category. Enter your hub serial number in the Serial field and your API key in the API Key field. Click Find my Zappi.
Step 4: Select Your Zappi and Verify
Joule Genie will connect to the myenergi cloud and list all Zappi chargers registered to your hub. Select the Zappi you want to control. If you only have one, it will be selected automatically. Within a few minutes the dashboard will show real-time charge power and plug state. When your EV is plugged in, the optimiser will schedule charging into the cheapest rate slots.
Troubleshooting
- "Authentication failed"? Double-check the hub serial number and API key. The API key is shown in the myenergi app under Account > Advanced — it is not the same as your account password.
- No Zappi found? Ensure the Zappi is registered to the same hub and showing live data in the myenergi app before connecting.
- Hub offline? The myenergi hub must have a working internet connection. Check the hub's Ethernet or Wi-Fi indicator lights are green.
