SolaX Power

In Testing Solar Inverter / Battery System

Real-time monitoring of SolaX hybrid inverters via the SolaX Cloud User Monitoring API v2. Read-only — no timed charge scheduling via the public API.

Getting Started

Connect your SolaX inverter to monitor real-time solar generation, battery state of charge, and grid flows in Joule Genie. Note that the SolaX Cloud public API is read-only — timed charge scheduling is not supported via the cloud API.

Step 1: Get Your API Token

Log in to your SolaX Cloud account at solaxcloud.com (or global.solaxcloud.com). Navigate to Service-API (sometimes shown as "API" in the account menu). Copy your Token ID — it is a 23–24 character string. If you don't see it, click "Generate" to create one. The token is free and does not expire unless you regenerate it.

Step 2: Find Your Dongle Registration Number

The registration number (sometimes called wifiSn) identifies your Pocket WiFi, LAN, or 4G data logger dongle — the device plugged into your inverter that connects it to the cloud. You can find it in two places:

  • Printed on the sticker on the dongle itself (format: e.g. SUT0000VB1).
  • In the SolaX Cloud portal under Device Details for your inverter — look for "Communication Module SN" or "Registration No."

Step 3: Add the Integration in Joule Genie

In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select SolaX Power from the Inverter category. Enter your Token ID. On the next screen, enter the dongle registration number as the device identifier.

Step 4: Verify Connection

Within a few minutes, the dashboard will show real-time solar generation, battery state of charge, and grid flows. Data updates every 5 minutes in line with the SolaX Cloud polling frequency.

API Limitations

  • The SolaX Cloud public API is read-only. Timed battery charge scheduling is not available via the API — you can configure charge windows through the SolaX app or the inverter's LCD menu.
  • Data updates are limited to the SolaX Cloud polling interval (approximately 5 minutes).
  • The API allows a maximum of 10 requests per minute. Joule Genie respects this limit automatically.

Troubleshooting

  • "No Permission" or "Invalid Token"? Regenerate your token in the SolaX Cloud Service-API section — each generation replaces the previous token.
  • No data returned? Ensure your inverter is online and showing live data in the SolaX Cloud portal before connecting. If the portal shows "offline" or no recent data, check the dongle's Wi-Fi or LAN connection.
  • Wrong registration number? The dongle SN (registration number) is different from the inverter serial number. Double-check the label on the small dongle device, not on the inverter itself.
