Getting Started

Connect your SunSynk hybrid inverter to monitor real-time solar generation, battery state of charge, and grid flows — and let Joule Genie optimise battery charging around your tariff using the full 6-slot charge schedule.

Step 1: Set Up SunSynk Connect

If you haven't already, download the SunSynk Connect app (available on iOS and Android) and sign in with your account. Make sure your inverter appears in the app and is showing live data before proceeding. Your inverter must be connected to the internet via the SunSynk Wi-Fi dongle or LAN connection.

Step 2: Select Your Region

SunSynk uses two regional API endpoints. Most users should select pv.inteless.com (the primary endpoint). If that fails, try api.sunsynk.net (the alternative endpoint, used by some older accounts and certain regions). You can find which endpoint your account uses by checking the SunSynk Connect app server settings, or simply try the primary first.

Step 3: Add the Integration in Joule Genie

In Joule Genie, go to Settings > Integrations > Add Integration and select SunSynk from the Inverter category. Enter the email address and password you use to log in to SunSynk Connect, and select your region. Click Find my inverters.

Step 4: Select Your Inverter

Joule Genie will connect to SunSynk Connect and list all inverters registered to your account. Select the inverter you want to monitor and optimise. If you only have one inverter it will be selected automatically. On the confirmation screen, enter your battery capacity in kWh — this is shown on your battery's label or in the inverter's settings page in the SunSynk Connect app.

Step 5: Verify Connection

Within a few minutes the dashboard will show your inverter's real-time solar generation, battery SOC, and grid flows. The optimiser will begin scheduling battery charging into the cheapest tariff periods using up to 6 time slots.

Supported Features

• Real-time monitoring: Solar generation, battery SOC and power, grid import/export, home load.
• 6-slot timed charge scheduling: The optimiser sets SunSynk charge time slots to charge the battery during cheap rate periods and discharge during expensive periods.
• Work mode control: Joule Genie can switch between Selling, Time of Use, and other SunSynk work modes as needed for optimisation.

Troubleshooting

• "Authentication failed"? Double-check your email and password — these are the same credentials you use in the SunSynk Connect app. If you log in with a phone number rather than email, try setting an email address in your SunSynk Connect account settings.
• Wrong region? If pv.inteless.com fails, switch to api.sunsynk.net in the region selector.
• No inverters found? Ensure your inverter is online and visible in the SunSynk Connect app before connecting. The inverter must have an active cloud connection.
• Readings not updating? SunSynk Connect data refreshes every 5 minutes. If readings are stale for longer, check that the inverter's Wi-Fi dongle is connected and the inverter shows as online in the app.
